01 — Who we are

A clinical-stage biotech rooted in two decades of glycobiology

GlycoNex, Inc. (TWO:4168) is a vertically integrated biopharmaceutical company focused on antibody-based therapeutics. Founded in 2001, the company's scientific foundation was shaped by early collaboration with The Biomembrane Institute and Dr. Sen-itiroh Hakomori — academic co-founder of GlycoNex, professor at the University of Washington, and a pioneer in the study of tumor-associated carbohydrate antigens.

Building on more than two decades of experience in glycobiology and antibody development, GlycoNex has established the proprietary GlycoSH anti-glycan antibody platform and an integrated development organization spanning discovery, cell line and process development, analytics, clinical manufacturing, and clinical development. The company is advancing a balanced pipeline of glycan-targeted antibody-drug conjugates and biosimilars.

GlycoNex combines differentiated science, integrated execution, and a balanced business model to build therapies and partnerships with lasting value.

Innovative Drug

Anti-glycan antibodies against tumor-associated carbohydrate antigens — sourced from the GlycoSH antibody bank — anchor a pipeline of antibody-drug conjugates, pro-antibody ADCs, and bispecific ADCs. Lead candidate GNX1021 entered Phase 1 in 2026; GNX201-ADC and GNX203 are in preclinical development.

Biosimilar

Two programs in development. SPD8 (denosumab biosimilar, Phase 3 complete) is co-developed with Mitsubishi Gas Chemical of Japan; SSR (a biosimilar for an autoimmune disease) is developed in-house.

Service (CDMO)

200 L GMP antibody manufacturing supports both internal pipeline and external partners. Current and historical clients include Change Cure (HMGB1-targeted antibody, 2025), with manufacturing collaborations with Sterling Pharma Solutions and EirGenix.

The people behind GlycoNex

Dr. Tong-Hsuan Chang
Dr. Tong-Hsuan Chang
Founder & Chairman

Dr. Tong-Hsuan Chang holds a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Tokyo. Following a research career in the United States spanning allergy, hormone receptors, monoclonal antibodies, and tumor markers, he led Syncor Biomedical Group before returning to Taiwan. He has served as Visiting Professor at National Taiwan University and as Director and acting CEO at Taiwan's Development Center for Biotechnology (DCB) — roles through which he helped establish Taiwan's monoclonal antibody and diagnostic reagent industry. He founded GlycoNex with a vision to translate the distinctive glycan biology of cancer into new therapeutic opportunities.

Dr. Mei-Chun Yang
Dr. Mei-Chun Yang
President & CEO

Dr. Mei-Chun Yang holds a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Taipei Medical University. She began her career in antibody research and development at Taiwan's Development Center for Biotechnology (DCB). After transitioning to industry, she focused on the development of therapeutic antibodies for cancer, building experience spanning antibody discovery, preclinical development, and clinical translation. She played a key role in translating Dr. Hakomori's discoveries in cancer-associated glycobiology into therapeutic programs that became the foundation of GlycoNex's pipeline. She joined GlycoNex in 2001 as Vice President and was subsequently appointed President and CEO. She now leads clinical translation, global partnership strategy, and asset commercialization—guiding the company's science from discovery through clinical development and toward patients and partners worldwide.
