GlycoNex Initiates Second Biosimilar Program for Immune-Mediated Indications
Building on its denosumab biosimilar experience, GlycoNex plans a second biosimilar program — a monoclonal antibody biosimilar addressing an immune-mediated disease.
NEW TAIPEI CITY, Taiwan — February 23, 2026 — GlycoNex, Inc. (TWO:4168) today announced that, following its denosumab biosimilar program for osteoporosis, it plans to initiate a second biosimilar development program — a monoclonal antibody biosimilar addressing an immune-mediated disease. GlycoNex noted that developing domestic biosimilars strengthens the resilience of the local biologics supply chain, helps ease the financial burden on the national health system, and lowers treatment barriers so that more patients can receive appropriate care earlier.
GlycoNex plans to be among the first wave of companies to develop this biosimilar, introducing a high-yield continuous manufacturing process and technology upgrades that extend its existing antibody-development and process-scale-up strengths in order to lower manufacturing cost, and will advance the program through subsequent clinical development.
GlycoNex has accumulated complete biosimilar development experience and deep, long-term expertise in antibody manufacturing. Our denosumab biosimilar, SPD8 — advanced from early development into Phase 3 — demonstrates our ability to complete biosimilar development. We will continue to strengthen local manufacturing resilience while raising the international visibility of Taiwan's biologics R&D and manufacturing.
— Dr. Mei-Chun Yang, President and CEO, GlycoNex, Inc.
The global biosimilar market continues to grow and is projected to exceed US$35 billion by 2028. GlycoNex is targeting international markets and will continue to advance its product portfolio and development timeline. Further detail on the company's pipeline is available on the pipeline overview.
